Career: Jacek Kugler is the Elisabeth Helm Rosecrans Professor of World Politics in the Department of Politics and Policy, School of Politics and Economics at Claremont Graduate University, California. Previously, he was a Professor at Vanderbilt, Assistant and Associate Professor at Boston Universities, Research Scholar at the Center for International Affairs at Harvard University, Project Co-Director at the Center for Political Studies, University of Michigan. He was also a Visiting Professor at Caltech, Harvey Mudd College, the Hatfield School of Government, Universidad Autonoma de Baja California, and UCLA. He founded the Sentia Group Inc. dedicated to the formal study of decision making, policy analysis and advice. He has been a consultant to the IMF, the World Bank, State Department, Department of Defense and a number of US agencies and private businesses. His research was funded among others by NSF, DARPA, and the Ford Foundation. He is a founder of the TransPacific Consortium that brings together a group of West Coast Universities and scholars. He is a past President of International Studies Association and the Peace Science Society. His research interests include modelling and empirical analysis, the causes and consequences of war, the theory of power transition and the initiation of World Wars I and II, and relations among major powers during the Cold War. Jacek Kugler is Editor of the journal International Interactions (see url below).
